Rod Building Workshop


Learn with me the rod building techniques during a weekend and get home with your very own fly rod built by yourself!

Thanks to over 10 years of professional rod building experience, I'll know how to guide you through all the steps needed to obtain a superb end result and share my rod building passion with you.

An ideal formula for all fly fishing clubs !

Saturday from 8.00 to 19.00 approximately

  • Fly blanks review, their construction, action, etc.
  • Spine identification and its influence on the rod
  • Reel seat and fly grip mount
  • Fly guides positioning 
  • Fly guides thread work
  • Thread work epoxy varnish

Sunday from 8.00 to 16.30

  • 2nd epoxy varnish coat
  • Fly fishing in lake or river (depending on our location)
  • Finished rod pick-up
  • Good bye

Rod building material at your disposal

All the necessary tools and consumables (epoxy, threads, hand wrapper, rod dryer, etc.) are at your disposal. You only need to bring your own small material (razor blade, light, etc.). 

The fly rod you can build
Choose a short model if possible, ideally a 7'6 or 8'0 foot as the necessary time needed to complete your threadwork is rather long for your first experience. We have a large selection of blanks and fly rod kits at your disposal. You just need to select the one you’d like and I’ll prepare it for you. Please contact me directly to make your selection.

Inscription and conditions
We organize on demand our rod building workshops for groups of min. 6 to a max. of 8 people. This is an ideal formula for Club and associations who have a large and heated meeting room at their disposal. For single people, you can enroll on our waiting list and when we have a group, we’ll set up a date that suits you.

Duration: 2 days

Price: 345€ per person (fly rod kit, room rent and meals are not included in this price)
